Taking Dog back to OZ?

Taking Dog back to OZ?
HI can anyone explain why it is my dog, which we bought in OZ, has to go into quarantine for 30 days in Australia when we return there to live?

I would imagine it's because it's left Oz soil. Even if that's where it came from, it may still have come into contact with diseases whilst abroad.

Oh poor mutt- I always thought, not having brought a dog UK-Oz, that the pet passport scheme was applicable for Australia. Sorry s/he has to go into quarantine

That's exactly why. Doesn't matter where the dog started life, if its been ouside the country it'll be quarantined on return - same as if you take a dog back to the UK, doesn't matter of the dog originally came from the UK it still ahs to meet quarantine requirements on return.
