systemic schools
Hi,
We have just got back from Oz and are returning for good in August. We have decided to send our children to a catholic systemic school. Can anyone tell me if these type of school count as private, or state?
There is a fee but it is considerably less than most private schools we have looked at.
Cheers

Hi Cath
As far as I am aware the Catholic schools ARE classed as "private" not state. On the local map fot our area that is what they are shown as

Fees are usually very low and if you come from a 'good' catholic family (ie have loads of kids and are well known in your local church) they might even let you off the fees altogether!
Independent Catholic schools are just that - run by an independent school board (which is sometimes a Catholic order) - and they are not answerable to the CEO.

Thanks, that clears a few things up for me. There seems to be a huge difference between systemic and independant fees and that is deffinitely a pull towards the systemics for us. We are paying for private in the uk and it costs us an arm and a leg and we would be glad to reduce them.
