Hi Dave,
There's a nice place round from us - called Macleay Lodge, on Macleay st, potts point.
Decent rates and decent accom (bedsit essentially). Ok if there's just you.

hi, we have found a place through www.rent-a-home.com.au - they are not cheap but there is a kitchen so compared to the other places that are just rooms, you'll save money by not having to eat out all the time. Hope you find something you like.

you might want to avoid Bondi Junction....
Apartment block has 32 brothels

THIS residential tower in the heart of Bondi Junction houses families, the office of a State MP - and a roaring sex trade.
Multiple uses: this unit block in Bondi Junction is not just home to its residents, it also houses illegal brothels and massage parlours / Justin Lloyd
The Daily Telegraph understands 32 units of the 112-unit building are being used either as massage parlours or brothels.
Amid claims Bondi Junction now has the highest concentration of sex outlets in Sydney, residents and landlords have complained to Waverley Council that use of the six-storey building for sex services has escalated in recent years.
Raphael Shammay, whose family owns 12 units in the Newland St complex, described the building as "a big seedy brothel".
"There are sometimes lines of men in the corridors waiting to be serviced," Mr Shammay said in a letter to the council.
Linda Chudyk, who owns two units in the building, said her tenants had been subject to loud noises into the early hours of the morning. "These are of the door being slammed up to 31 times per night, high heels constantly walking on bare floors, heavy thumping footfalls and the regular dropping/bouncing of heavy objects onto the bare floor," she said.
Waverley Mayor and Coogee MP Paul Pearce is aware of what is going on in the building - his office is on the first floor.
"I've written to the building manager ... because I believe we've reached the point where there are probably detrimental impacts on residents," he said. "I have noticed on ... occasions after late night sittings of Parliament there have been, what appear to me, heavies downstairs."
A council report said the building was inspected on January 16, finding "two units are suspected to be operating as unauthorised brothels ... and another two units are suspected to be providing massage services with a no-sex policy but without valid consent."
A massage parlour operator, who did not want to be named, said the number of rooms operating as brothels in Bondi Junction had more than doubled in the past two years. "It's purely just the ease of setting up at the Junction," the operator said.
Last week, the council resolved to draft planning controls to deal with issues like the health of sex workers, clustering of premises and crime prevention.
Liberal councillors who moved the motion claim there are at least 71 illegal brothels/massage parlours in Bondi Junction. "We are receiving an increasing number of complaints from residents, owners of property and workers in the sex industry," the councillors said in a statement.
The councillors say current legislation makes the closure of illegal sex outlets "cumbersome and costly" requiring private investigators to gather evidence.
