Unfortunately a sign of the times - Melbourne has closed hospitals and late last year had to cancel operations in its children's hospital due to lack of funding and staff shortages.
A few days after the closures/cancellations were announced, the state govt released information about its cash reserves and how much cash it had held back for the next election campaign.
