Hello
Had a chat with a financial advisor the other day about pensions & the like and he seemed to think that upon finding work in Oz it is compulsory to pay into superannuation - is this true?

One thing for IT people to be aware of is that some agents try and sell the salary package including superannuation as though they are offering you something extra. You get your salary plus you get superannuation.
Eg job 1 Salary is 50000
job 2 Salary package is 54,500 (because they include the super)
Job one has to pay the super anyway so both packages are equal. Anyone trying this on with you should be treated carefully.
Above figures are indicative only.
