Suburbs of Perth???
Hello,
Can you help?
My OH and I have our rekkie booked for September. We're making the permanent move some time early 2007. We hope to use the rekkie for checking out the suitability of suburbs for our initial rental and then purchase. OH's job is project based, mainly working at clients offices so we do not need to worry about location of work. The deciding factor will be quality of life.
We have no clue where to start but we're after the following:
Community feel
Near a park / beach for taking the little'n and or jogging.
Walking distance to coffee shop / juice bar for people watching
Friendly pub for OH
Local leisure facilities / fitness club where we can meet people and integrate.
Close to public transport (Hear the train is good)
Am I expecting too much?
Our friend lives in Mindarie so will consider that area but need some other ideas.
I've heard Joondalup is nice too. Are these both British expat areas?
Would like to move somewhere where we might meet non brits as well as Expats!
Any ideas??
Cheers for your help.
Milly

But does anyone know if there are any Suburbs in the South that might be worth considering.

Hi Milly,
We are in Mosman Park and love it!
Pro's
Close to the beach AND the river.
On train line 2 stops off Freo and 20min into Perth.
Stones throw from Cot
Loads of restaurants and cafes close by.
Great gym 'Healthy Life' in Cot.
Parks and cycle tracks all around.
Con's
Comes at a price.
Other than that none.
Also try Cot, Wembly Downs, Floreat, Claremont, Swanborne.
Apart from Freo I wouldn't bother with south of the river,
hope that doesn't trigger a big north/south debate.
You'll love Perth, we have been here 6 months now.
It's all good!
