Default Structural survey?

Our house has been structurally repaired in the past (it was underpinned maybe 10 - 15 years ago).

Bearing this in mind and the fact that we are going in 3 years, do you think we should get a full strucutral survey done now and then it can be updated in 3 years to show that there is no ongoing movement.

The previous owners had a few problems selling but I seem to recall they had a structural survey done and updated and that was good enough for our mortgage lender at the time.

My view was that the house was built in 1875 so it was better to have had the work done to prevent any further movement.
Incidentally, apart from the house being old, the movement was mainly casued by a previous owner digging down in the cellar to make it full height, therefore exposing the foundations !!!! :scared: (has now been filled in again to half-height and flagged floors put in.

Andy.
