Default Steel works Perth

Anybody have an a idea about steel production in Perth . Seen a few firma on web iwant to know if Osborne Park Market mill is a bar production mill I have experience in steeel bar mills bar and coil as well as finishing . I amexperienced in NDT an am aqualified spark tester and spectro operator,. My firm Corus was the only trainer for sp`s inthe UK, they used to charge thousands to outside firms

Don't remember anything that huge down there - Osborne Park is mainly commercial and light industrial.

All of the heavy industry is south of Perth in Kwinana.

Do you actually mean turning iron ore into steel rather than shaping it? If so then most of the iron ore we dig up in Aus is sent to China, Japan, Korea so that is where the foundries are. However, Rio Tinto have developed a small business in the Kwinana area called HISmelt which does just that. From memory I think BHP Billiton may have a similar operation in Port Hedland but that is a 2 hour flight away.

It reminds me of Port Talbot Steel works, thats owned by Corus.
