Hi All

For the statement needed for spouse visa. Does it need to be formal i.e

1. We met on ......
2. We have emotionally supported each other .....
3. We plan on marrying ........

OR

we met at such and such and have done this and that whilst maintaining this and that through thick and thin etc.

Any help is MUCH appreciated -

Anthony

Hi Anthony,
My fiance and I have got three statements between us - we have each done one with the soppy stuff about where we met, what sort of hobbies we have, and what we hope for the future and that kind of thing. Then I have also done one which I will get witnessed by a JP, which contains the more official stuff like dates of the relationship, date of intended marriage, etc.

The informal two are a couple of pages long, but the brief & more official one is much shorter, and is designed so that they can see the important details quickly, without having to search through all the soppy stuff!

Is that any help??

Hi Pollyanna

Thanks for your reply it has been very helpful.

I and my partner have each prepared a 'soppy' statement. but I will also add a 'quick' overview page to save them from tears!!!

Cheers for your help

Is this for a 'common-law relationship', if so I can help.

Steve.
