Springfield area Brisbane
#1
Hi
We are in the process of applying for our Visa ( well we are waiting to hear ) and are hoping to validate in July. during this trip we will be looking at areas we like. We were going to be looking at North Lakes but have been put off by a few things.
Now we are thinking of looking at the Springfield area. Can anyone answer us the following (strange ) questions:
What are the senior schools and tafe in the area like ?
Can you get broadband ?
Is it a good place to live ?
is there lots of places to walk the dog especially off the lead
regards

I was not just thinking of springfield lake but also augustine heights and the surrounding area. I would love to live in the countryside but with 2 teenagers, we need to cater for all of us and compromise.
and if is good enough for homer and marge then it's good enough for us

Take a look at the link below, it gives you information on education, house/land prices, shopping etc. This area is growing rapidly, and is very popular with families, good choice of schools and wide range of house prices. I disagree with the early post, the developers have maintained mature trees, and provided great park areas, bike/walking paths and picnic areas. Much easier for you and your kids to make friends in an area like this than out in the country...it's definately worth a look....you'll know immediately if it's right for you and your family.

Springfield Lakes is ok.
Good commuting to both Ipswich and Brizzy.
Feels very Ipswichy.. which puts a lot of ppl orf !
Broadband is available.
Lots are very small, as they are building houses, like its going out of fashion.. as part of the east west corridor. Expect land size for around 450m+
Very close to Greenbank army base, which is huge.. so any nuclear strike and your in the hit zone.
However, prices are keen.
I would imagine, its a good community spirit in the area, as everyone overlooks each other, very much like Brookside ( uk tv )
