Default Spraypainting guns

Hi,

my hubbie is a car spray painter (paint sprayer? Can never remember which way round is correct!) and wants to ship all his spray guns to Oz from here in the UK to save money on buying them in Oz.

Firstly, is this legal? IE, are these guns ok to transport from the point of view of (1) lingering traces of paint possibly remaining even after a thorough clean and (2) are they classed as dangerous and on that list of prohibited items that they make you read at the airport?

Has anyone else transported these guns from UK to Oz? If so, do you think we'd be ok to do it in a suitcase we check in?

Or if anyone has bought their own guns in Oz how much did they cost?

Many thanks
Kelly
