We seem to get a few of the huntsmen down here. They do seem to come and go. We found this pair making jiggy-jiggy in the kitchen the other day. (Note the tile height is about 10 cm.)
Regards
Alistair
PS: I used to be dead scared of spiders in the UK. For some reason I don't find them so scary here, even though they are bigger (and some of them are poisonous).

anyhow one downside of a spider killing cat is the crunching sound when they get the huntsman and the eight legs left behind

But I've heard that they mutate inside the dyson and come out ten times faster and ten times stronger!!!! :scared:
They can then pick up the Dyson and hit you on the head with it!!!
Its true honest!!!!!

Like the cat idea though - either that or a flame thrower, nail gun or shotgun....

We had a big huntsman in ours on Friday, at least I think it was one.
I liberally applied the Raid and he(she?) started acting a bit drunk and wobbling all over the ceiling
I had to leave for work but when I got home, it was sitting on the carpet facing the door! I poked it and found it had succumbed to the spray. After a few drinks I thought it would be a good idea to pick it up and show it to our mates.
When I woke up in the morning I noticed that the skin on my fingers had gone all dry and flaky - it's still like it now.
Either I'm allergic to Raid or allergic to hairy spider legs!

Well since my post yesterday I have seen 2 more. One last night crawling through a very, very small gap at the bottom of the front door :scared:
And today, went into the garage to be confronted by a huge one sitting on the ladder :scared:
What annoys me is that the doors over here have large gaps at the bottom so I think most of the spiders are coming in from the garage. More worrying is because the gaps in the doors are on every door in the house they can move from room to room quite easily :scared:
I must admit to starting to feel freaked out now, didn't get to sleep that well last night as hubbie was already asleep with the light off and I didn't get a chance to look around the room.
Oh, and I've just ran out of spray and I'm all on my tod now.
Bix, I won't hit them with a shoe now because of Gill telling me that she hit one and lots of little baby spiders came running out :scared:
