Default specialist consultants.

Hi, I'm new to this site and I'd like to know peoples views on whether or not to use a company of consultants to aid getting a visa...or is it easier to do it all ourselves?

If you think its better to use someone could you recommend a company?

Cheers Rachx

It's been asked and answered a hundred times already. Do a forum search on 'agents' or 'consultants' and you should see plenty of threads.

As to whether you should use one or not - depends on how simple or otherwise your case is and how good you are at doing your own research.

If you don't want to do any donkey work, or want the hassle of research ( ) then yes an Agent is probably for you.

You still have to do the 'donkey work' yourself but a good agent is able to provide specific guidance.

I have spoken to 1st Contact Visas and Global. Both were quite helpful. 1st Contact had a fairly wide ranging package which would be good if I had no time to chase evrything (which I don't).

First Contact are a major rip off don't use them, they're useless at everything especially tax. Believe me I have to operate through them as a business

My husband got his UK visa (he's an Aussie) through Global Visas and found them okay. They were really expensive and he still had to do the donkey work himself. In hindsight he could have done it himself. I did my aussie visa myself but its a spouse visa. I guess it depends what visa you're going for I guess.
