Default Sorta new to Adelaide

Hi All. Joined BE a month ago but have too busy to visit this forum since :-( I've moved from the Hills to the city recently, Beulah Park to more precise. My wife is currently overseas and when she returns we're looking to meet up and socialise with some new faces, We are both well traveled and educated (I'm from the UK with a Kiwi passport my wife is from RU) So if you're interested is a glass or two of Red and a freshly brewed cup of coffee it'd be great to hear from you, PM me I guess :-) Thanks All.

Hi! We are in the Hills. Maybe you could tell us all a bit more about yourselves - ages, kids, jobs, interests etc to spark some responses? You would probably find us a couple of boring old farts with 3 littlies but happy to meet up for a coffee sometime for a natter. In our early and late forties.

Hello! Geez, a bit about ourselves... phew... I'd need a week Ok, just moved from Aldgate to the city to be closer to my business. I'm 48, but on my 40th I decided I was not going to reach 41 so I counted backwards, that was better than the alternative option! So I am 32 (feel about 35) which is good as its 2 years younger than my wife, she's 35. I'm originally from cider country, the South West of England and scooted off to NZ in 2001 and now travel on a Kiwi passport and support the AB's!! For some odd reason that I still can't figure I stumbled into architecture a while ago and have just won a major award so still walking around with a rather "glazed" look on my face My wife originates from Russia with Armenian/Jew ancestry and teaches English as a foreign language. She knows the technicalities of the English more than I do and corrects my English for me at times . She also translates movies for events like the Moscow International Film Festival and similar. Likes? Movies oddly and most certainly a good red wine, cider, coffee, good food, entertaining, good company and conversation. We are active, walk and cycle. I'd play rugby given the chance but I'm not allowed! No children but planning... imminent, fingers crossed Advice like "don't do it" welcome! The Locavore in Stirling was my local a while ago, don't know if you know it? And boring old farts? I doubt it, you responded to my post . Right, I think that is enough, you are probably asleep now, sorry suffer from being rather "expansive". Cheers Paul and Irina

Not asleep yet but soon! Living in Mt Barker. Like a drop of red and definitely coffee addicts! My parents live in the alternative cider country (Herefordshire). Been here almost 4 years. Like walking, chatting and playing board games (Titan, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Mah Jong and the like). Working on the getting fit bit! Hubby into shooting. I am a stay at home mum but registered Science teacher. Hubby is in IT, working in the City. Children aged 6, 3 and 1. Feel free to PM if you fancy a catch up sometime.

Hey there... thanks for the reply :-). I'll PM you shortly, bed and pad don't mix so well! Shooting huh? Returning to Russia, a country and culture I love in June/July. I have a friend there, we are going shooting, well that's the idea, semi and fully automatic weapons, a kalashnikov should appear. Actually my wives can strip one and rebuild it, don't you love the Russian equivalent of the girl guides :-) Gun laws are a little different there. Re stay at home mum. Easy job, well that's what I naively thought until I realised how tired my business partners wife was each day after looking after a 4 and 6 year old :-) I have serious respect for stay at home mums now :-) Signing off...

Hi there. I live in Adelaide, have lived here 16 years but always happy to meet new people. I am from Liverpool originally (which you can probably tell from my user name!). I live in the Hills, no kids.
I'm in my forties, my partner is from Canada and is a youthful early fifties! We enjoy good company, good coffee and a nice glass of wine too. PM me if you are interested in meeting up.

Also, if you like meeting other Expats and you are on Facebook, there is an Expats in Adelaide group. We usually meet up once a month at a pub in the city and there is a real mixture of nationalities.
