Yep totally agree with you - he used to own a pub in Dunfermline (not the best occupation if you have a drink problem) then moved to Nashville & re married. Sad loss.

Re Big Country - Stuart Adamson died a few years ago (think it was suicide). Shame, he was a good musician (anyone remember The Skids - great band?).

Whenever I hear this sung by a choir it brings a tear to my eye. I especially like the version from the soundtrack of Chariots of Fire

p.s. does everyone know what the questions are about in the first verse, and the legend behind those questions? If not I'll post what I know.-TC

I am a SKA AKA kid from the home of the Specials in Coventry.

Also used to drink with Hazel O'connors dad.

But

Fun Boy 3 didnt sing too much too young, wasnt that Madness ??

Ya know Im withya on this one, its an awesome spine tinglin tune.

We loved it so much had it sung at our wedding.

My kids heard it on our weddin video, we showed them cpl years ago, n they thought they were singin Jarules Slim !!! ffs kids

Too Much Too young was the Specials.

Surprised nobody has said The green green grass of home or whatever it's called, by Tom Jones!

Heard London's Calling by the Clash the other day & that reminded me of the Uk

I love SKA too.

Just asked hubby about too much too young. He thinks it was the Specials first then when Terry Hall and the others split and formed FB3 they did a version too. Not sure - but deffo not Madness.
