Smiling Oz PM
Anyone have a picture of the Oz prime minister Howard smiling.
They had the ref in there pocket, cheated & squealed all of the game, played on there own turf & still couldn't beat us.
Then the ungracious Bar Steward more or less threw the medals at the victors, feels good though I can't believe how patriotic I became, really surprised me.
Will cheer the Aussies against anyone else though.

I can't believe you would say that about the ref. He had a very good game.....ok, incorrect decisions to my mind too but no ref ever gets it 100%. Were you swayed (just a little) by the blatantly biased commentary coming from the ITV commentators who felt the need to criticise every decision that went against England?
Thought the same about Howard throwing the medals though. Couldn't believe he was so ungracious. Didn't even hang them round some players necks....just shoved it in their hands. Not the most gracious in victory or defeat it has to be said.

Hey Banjo,
Two different opinions from the same town eh, can't wait to get out of here. Where are you heading.
The decision on poor biased refereeing was on the 4 times i have seen the game, he liked the limelight that's for sure, good talker, but no referee worth his salt would of made those key decisions at that crucial time of the game, dubious or otherwise. Considering the lack of penalties he gave for us for exactly the same things was amazing. He was sponsored to keep the Aussies in it, ask the wife.
Blokes like that ruin peoples lives, watching the game again & again won't sway me, he was inconsistant to say the least, & efffing biased to say the most, a possible traffic warden in the making.

Never mind John Howard did you see that guy from the IRB giving the Aussies their medals. He wasn't looking half the time and couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Maybe he still had sour grapes left over from the pool game when England beat SA. I have to be careful what I say as my 'trouble and strife' is from South Africa. She won't hear a bad word about Andre Watson. She also isn't keen to watch the final again.....?
So, you're in Swindon too? Whereabouts are you....we're in Highworth. Leaving for Colac (couple of hours south of Melbourne) on 17 January. Buyers signing contract for the house on Wednesday....so keep fingers crossed. Where are you headed and do you have a date for going yet?

we accepted the first offer we got which was 4K less than the asking price. The house was on the market two weeks and we were thinking about dropping it by 5K when we got the offer. People seem a lot more picky these days with house prices being so high. We must have had 6/7 viewings before the offer. Hope you sell soon. What area you in?

Faced with a few ill tempered comments from non-entities in a far off land against losing an election, what choice would you make?
