Default Skype and webcams

Hi,

Am just trying to set up Skype between ourselves and parents - can get the microphones to work but can only see ourselves on the webcams - anyone know where we are going wrong - is there a setting we have missed?

When you make a call on the Skype with a webcam make sure they have started their video there is a little box with a picture of a camcorder in it they need to click that and then you should be able to see them.

Skype is great for keeping in touch being able to see the person you are talking to and not having to worry about the cost of the call is great

My OH has been in Sydney for 8 months now and skype is fabulous, good luck,

You should get your parents to sign up with BT's cheap scheme for international calls, makes them dirt cheap. For when you don't want to use skype, it's still nice to be able to wander around on phone while they tell you about everyone who's ill or dying that you may possible have ever new in the UK. It's nice to spread a bit doom and gloom world wide.

go to 'tools' , then 'options' , then 'video', then click the setting for it to come on automatically whenever they answer a skype call. (hope this helps!)

Do you need expensive/high speed broadband for oz - uk skype?

I use it here in Ireland all the time - but the quality is crappy because we are on wireless,20quid a month broadband.:curse:

What type of broadband do you guys in Oz use??(& how much is it?)

Thanks in advance ...
