Default Silliest UK hit ever

The silliest uk hit I can recall was by STREETBAND, called TOAST, others of course would include anything at all by chaz & dave, joe dolce shaddup yer face

So refresh my memory on some more. (by the way, I have quite a selection of older brit stuff on mp3, some of which are hard to find even on kazaa, pm me requests if you have been searching for that old tune, obscure welcome).

A great site to refresh your memory is here:

That song pops into my head a lot since being here as there is a big Italian community here and whenever i see them congregated, i have the urge to sing it

HI Luke,
Didn't Paul Young sing "Toast" in the "Street" band ?
I was in an 80s band called "Cutting Edge" we were signed to MCA Records, but after 4 single releases & TV shows ie Crackerjack & Saturday Superstore, MCA had spent that much dosh on us they couldn't wait to get rid of us!!!!
Would you know of a website I could go to track any past info ?
Thanks
Andrew

You are correct about Paul Young, he did join with Streetband for "Toast", Im unsure if he did the vocals or played.

cant find the song I want...its not a silly one, but one I remember from the mid 80's, particularyl poignant to me at the time.
it went something like this.....*ahem*....
chorus
no more the fool who waits around
waiting for you to bring me down
those days are gone
no more the fool who lies awake
crying and waiting for the day to break
no more the sound as my dreams fall and hit the floor
those days are gone......

bugger if I can find it anywhere, and I have searched for years!!

anyone remember it or who it was by??

Elkie Brooks - No more the fool
Just why I stayed around
When all I found was a heartache
I believed your every word
Didn't know the hurt and pain that you'd make

But why did it take so long
Alas, now I've seen the light
I found the heart to say

No more the fool
Who waits around
Waitin' for you to bring me down
Those days are gone now

No more the nights
Layin' awake
Cryin' and waitin' for the day to break

No more the sound as my dreams fall and hit the ground
While I'm waitin' around
No more the fool

You thought I'd break
Then you were wrong
That I wouldn't see what's goin' on
But I knew

Here I am
I'm alive
And you'll see I'll survive
Without you

And I won't be the one who comes runnin'
It ain't like it used to be
It's your turn to run to me

No more the fool ...
All the nights I waited for you to call
I waited for a sign that you would stay
But it's so clear
You didn't care at all

No more the fool

No more the fool
Who waits around
No more the fool
No more the clown
No more the fool

No more the sight
No more the sound
And hit the ground
No more the fool

No more the fool ...
No more the fool
No more the sight
No more the sound
No more the fool

I shall try and get it for you shortly on mp3

Tunes...
"Dancing with the rebels" "Country Boy" "Lonesome Cowboy"

We also played with Paul Young & Frankie goes to Hollywood & were signed to MCA same time as Nick Kershaw around 84.
Matt Nelmes sang and may be producing now. When I last spoke to him he was living with Hazel Dean an 80s singer.
PS. The songs were dire but great producing.

The one I've been carrying around in my head since the early 80s is this one (But until today it hadn't been while I was googling, so I only now know it's by Splodgenessabounds )

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Please
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
I'll have two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
I'll have some pickled onions,
And a little bit of cheese, please.
Thank you.

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Eh. Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
And I've got all the right money
And all that, please.
Thank you.

Oi! Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Ay! Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
I've been here half hour
And I'm getting very thirsty!

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Over here!
Oi! Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Why won't you serve me?

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.
Two pints of lager—
Listen, I'm getting impatient, John!

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps.
Two pints of lager and a packet of fff crisps.
Two pints of lager and a packet of
(Time, gentlemen, please!)
And a packet of crisps.

Oh. Ooh.
