Re: Silliest reason for 'going back'
I can relate to the "missed the football" reason, as there isn't any decent football here (not even the Melbourne Victory, I'm afraid), but if you "can't get a decent pint" then you're simply not trying hard enough!
When I was living in The Bahamas my parents came over from the UK for a visit, and on the following day I flew to the UK to see a football match (the "Greatest Game" play-off final between Charlton and Sunderland which finished 4-4 and which Charlton won 7-6 on penalties). Luckily they understood, as they were fans too, but had booked their trip before Charlton had qualified for the play-offs. I only stayed two days and came straight back! |

I think most (the vast majority of) people realise that Badge. Sometimes I think you see hand-wringing where there is none.
But then you get people giving reasons and all of the reasons are a bit like that. And then you picture the people and think...I KNOW these people... |

No wonder you didn't like it - someone forgot the beer!
I wasn't to keen on what was referred to as the "abo's handbags" (the wine box things). Watching the ladies tear open the box and squeeze the last few drips down their throats was quite unbecoming:blink: The kids enjoyed the fairy bread though:blink: the aussies could be on to a winner there:thumbsup: |

Everyone knows the best way to get the last few drops out is to blow up the nozzle (and no, that's not a euphemism :D) |

I've had a good life. Been a good 'un. An interesting one. A lucky one, even a charmed one at times, but not a perfect one. I'm not sure what perfect would be. |
