Default sick pay!!

Hi
I work for myself in the uk and when we move to aus i will hopefully set up again fro myself after a few months/years?.

But the question is,what sort of accident and sickness cover can a self employed person get?
I have combined insurance which i think i can use in aus but what about other covers?

Oh and do the hospitals pay sickness pay?

cheers

A starting point may be to look at what insurances you can obtain through your Super provider. I use Australian Super and they provide life, accident and insurance if your off work for some time.

If you are self employed you should take out your own Workers Comp. You can contact Allianz for more info. about it. If you intend to contract / work in the capacity as an agent for a company, most companies will insist on your having it.
