Hi all
new to this site although been reading threads for a while. We are currently waiting for our state sponsorship to come back (hopefully successful) from Queensland and the question is when we send our form to DIAC should we also send medicals and PCC checks at the same time or is this too risky?
Really not sure what to do for the best. Any advice will be gratefully received.

You will have approx. 1 year to enter Australia from the time you have your police checks/medicals (which ever one you get done first). So if you want to be in Oz as soon as possible, send them with your application form but if you want to take your time wait until they are requested. For example, we applied for our visa in March 08, CO requested police cheks meds in early September 08, we had them done in mid September 08 and we now have to be in Oz by 19th September 09. You get roughly 28 days from the time they are requested to the time you need to have them with the CO but I think this can be extended if need be. God luck!

Also a point to ponder is the fact that PCC and medicals are only valid for one year so if for some reason your application takes longer then they may expire.Costly to re-do so if you want to be conservative then I suggest that after you submit app. give it a few months then do them.
