Shipping A Small Amount...
#1
Can I ship about 1mx1mx1m - Brighton to Brisbane for less than £100?
Probably a crap question but I have no idea about shipping, im only looking at taking my stereo and some other crap (ps2, tv and thats about it)
stereo etc values at about 400 quid, so might wana take it, but wouldnt pay more than 150 quid because thats all I would loose from selling & rebuying.
Ill be suprised if they dont offer small containers for people who arnt taking tonnes of stuff.
Surely thats a market somones serving!?
So <£120? Yes or No will do

265 / 4 = 66.3 (about what I need)
1450 / 4 = 362.5
Too much, Its only worth about that! Looks like my mum might just adopt a load of effects!

equals 5.66 per cubic foot plus insurance
you needed approx 1x1x1 mtr square
approx 28 cubic feet
28 x 5.66 = £ 159

To link like that, just click on the hyperlink button at the top of the text box
type in the word you want to show in the post in the first box that appears and click OK, then paste the link in to the next box.

Try www.sevenseas.co.uk
We used them to ship 8 boxes of stuff.....they do boxes in two sizes...tea chest and book case. We thought their prices were very reasonable compared to hiring a part container. They supply the boxes and collect them once you have packed. Took about 8 weeks for our boxes to arrive in Oz.

Hi Jan,
The total cost of our shipment was £524.95 in total. This included them delivering empty boxes and packing material to our home, then picking up the boxes once we had packed them, and delivering them to our new house in Canberra. (It also included insurance.)
We sent 4 book case size boxes and 4 tea chest size boxes plus a guitar in its case. Everything arrived in perfect condition and took about 8 weeks to get from UK to Canberra.
Cheers,
Wendy

Yesterday we sent two packages from Suffolk to Sydney...
One was my set of golf clubs, shoes, etc in a very durable hard case weighing 18.5 kgs - cost £114 plus an Extra £10 to increase the insurance above the standard £150.
The other was a cardboard tea chest of approx, you guessed it, 1mx1mx1m, weighing 23kgs. the key point here is the weight... keep it under 20kgs and you're ok, above and the rate gets silly...
Sent by the post office (Data Post), air mail, delivery in 5-14 days...
Cheers

Glad to be of assistance !!!
I wasn't going to take much either but ended up taking things like photos, books, and other bits and bobs. I am so glad I brought them cos it is nice to have some familiar things from home.
