Shipping customs and AQIS costs
We got our invoices this morning for our customs and AQIS charges in Brisbane.
We have a 40ft container coming in 20ft household effects (170 boxes) and 20ft with the car.
We had an invoice for $1200. I was slightly taken back so was the OH.
I questioned them since they were charging $800 for personal effects and $400 for the car. We have friends that paid $385 for a 20ft container.
They have since come back with an apology for getting it wrong and they had invoiced us for 40ft personal effects and it now comes to $827.50.
A huge difference but had we not been ping pongers and done all this shipping lark before and had a slight idea we could have paid this and I bet they would not have admitted their mistake.
Our stuff was removed from the house on the 29th July and we are not going to get it for another 30 days at the earliest It is due into Sydney on the 20th September but could take 2 wks to get to Brisbane.
Oh well we are getting used to living a simple lifestyle with the bare minimum.
