I have effectively given 6 weeks notice when I only needed to give 4. My boss originally thought I needed to give two maybe three months notice.When he said it I thought oh sh"t...!!!
Anyhow, it turned out that I was right and only needed to give a months notice. I have handed in my notice saying that I will leave on the 30th. I am due two weeks holiday as well, so may use some of that, well maybe a couple of days and finish a little earlier, but not too sure yet. Busy looking at flights to Langkawi, Singapore and Brissie. Oh yes and the apartments need sorting too. Of course need` to sort out my Tax rebate and also to get some cash from the poll tax and water rates. I would like to get my tax back before I go, but that aint gonna happen!

Boss aint too pleased about me leaving though. Only two other people in the company know officially, the Engineering and Sales and Marketing managers. The Engineerinkg Manager chatted to me this morning and said if it was him, he would go. He has been to Oz and would like to emigrate but his wife wont. It was funny cos the MD asked him about the process of migration and he knew all about it!!!! Bet that worried the MD.

None of my staff know, I wonder how they will feel.....maybe happy, though I doubt it! I am wondering when the MD will make the official announcement...But not my problem.
The sad thing about it all is that I like my boss, he is a good guy and a good MD, manages the company and the people very well.


Glad you have booked the hotel room, it will be great to see you.

Dunno if T mentioned it but our froends from Canada are comiong home for a few months and will be at our leaving do....that is gonna be wierd!

:D thanks netta for your kind words,lol, just got in from work and ive got to start all over again,lol,i ll be glad when the shippers have been and im left with an empty house ;) at least i ll be able to have a proper clean up :D

Can,t believe you are going so quick, last time I looked you were selling your house.I gather you are still hairdressing like a true brit hairdresser up to the end,I hope it has not been too emotional saying farewells to your clients, i know this will be the hardest thing for me.Well get hairdressing over there by the time i hit the shores you will be knacked or a millionaires , as there doesn,t seem to be many of us about !!!

hi there trac :D your right i will be hairdressing right to the very end,just have a week off next week to move house and keep an eye on the shippers ;) ive got some lovely clients and even though im not going for another 5wks yet ive already had a few lovely cards of some of them,one with a very large note in it(the spending kind :rolleyes: )quite bought a lump to my throat.
Ive invited my clients to my leaving party,quite honestly alot of them are more like family :o
Well id love to think your right about being a millionaires,lol,that would show the some of the less enthusiastic back home :rolleyes:but dont worry theres plenty of room for all of us. ;)

Talking of shippers. Do you have to do a lot before they come? Do they supply all the boxes bubble wrap (if they use it) etc.

Do they tell you what you can and can't take with you, so you can prepare before they get there?

Haven't got a clue as I've never done anything like this before.. :confused:

hi there,ive found pss very helpful indeed,some of them we rent so forthcoming in telling you what to and what not to do.Yes they supply the bubble wrap and all the boxes and if you have any special requirements they supply that to,i have a glass china cabinet and there are going to make a special wooden box just for that.most of the preparing really is sorting out what you want to take,although everything has to be very clean,eg,you have to thoroughly clean the bottom of all your shoes and of course anything from the garden.
