Best of luck to all moving imminently! We all now know how stressful it is! :D

Hi Tracey,

Don't know if you remember me from the London meet? Anyway - we've been offline for a while - we were in Brisbane for a bit - bought a house in Brisbane(yipee) came back home to move out of one UK house into another. Now we're waiting for the exchange of contracts to go through on this second house. Hope it all gets sorted before we arrive back in Brisbane. Didn't realise when we spoke at the meet how close you were to moving. Whereabouts have you decided upon? Which shippers did you use? So many questions - such little time! I keep in touch with Sue2 and I see she's almost there as well. It all seems to be happening for everyone!

Hi Sue,

I thought me & John would beat you to it - but looks like we're lagging behind. Can't remember if I told you our date is Sept 9th. Good luck with the temporary move. Are you putting your stuff in temporary storage in UK or are you shipping it already? What date do reckon you'll be booking the flights?

Re: shippers are coming

We have bought a house in Balmoral / Brisbane- fairly close to Oxford street. Really nice area (at least we think so). Loads of lovely restaurants and cafes. We have got some brilliant views of the city because the house is quite elevated. Its a lovely old queenslander. Very easy to get into the city. In fact very close to everything. It hasn't got a pool - and I swore I would not move to Australia unless I got a pool - but John says he'll sort it (probably in about 10 years time!). I'm just itching to get there and have my first sip of red wine on the verandah! Just cannot wait.

We saw some nice properties all over Bayside. Liked Victoria point. In fact liked lots of areas. We also spent ages looking around the western suburbs. Then we looked at Paddington / Rosalie / Kelvin Grove. This was our fifth visit to Brisbane so we were surprised when we found Balmoral / Bulimba for the first time. Its got everything we need. Plus we're city dwellers at heart so its ideal, as its just a citycat ride into CBD. Its actually very easy to get straight onto the Pacific Highway for access to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. What more could we ask?

I think we might be using PSS ourselves. Only problem is - because we've gone through 2 UK house moves recently, we've already got everything boxed up and spread over about 3 different relatives houses. PSS says that they need to see everything first before they ship it, so although we've already done all our inventories etc, it looks like they'll have to repack everything again, which means we'll have to redo all those listings I guess. I don't know how on earth we're going to sort this mess out. I feel like leaving everything behind and saying to hell with it. I've outgrown all my clothes recently anyway - I've put nearly a stone on in the last 3 months! And I think John has too - must have been all that fine food whilst we were house hunting in Brisbane!
