Ahhh but that's the thing. We are the number one predator....so in effect we can determine what survives and what doesn't. But just because we can does that mean we should? ;)

OK....so the list of things we get rid of so far;

Sharks
Coconuts
Cars
Car makers
Peanuts
Redbacks

Re: Shark attack - Brisbane waters

but are we really number one

if all is considered equal you should be able to put a human into any situation and have the human come out on top..... so a shark swimming in the water (with just it's normaly sharky shape and body) should be able to be over-powered and killed by a human in the water (with just it's normal human shape and body), but of course we know this won't be the case and the shark will win. Same goes for the lion in the serengeti! (hopscotch aside!!)

just because we've figured out how to make and use a gun, or a shark net, or a spear, doesn't mean that we're number one. it means that if we tip the scales in our favour we will win.

I (IMO) don't think we are the number one predator just because we've mastered the above mentioned impliments!

but now we're getting into Human Cognitive Evoltuion and that's a bit deep me thinks!!!

as for the list................... can we add chavs??

c. Splat it

We have already killed the red back just for being in the Kitchen and we didn't have a baby in sight... but the red back was in our area we weren't in it's web... :D .

That's irrelevant.

...........yes and referring to the fact that we would not be in the spider's web for any reason, whereas there are lots of reasons people go into the sea.

So it's a stupid comparison.

If you're in Brissie waters at the weekend, keep an eye out for that shark - he's probably hungry again by now.
