I do hear the sun shines a bit more in OZ than the UK and it's wise to invest in some proper job sunglasses.

So with that in mind what should I be lookin for please ?

I gotta look a cool dude right ?

My advice would be wait until you are out here. The glasses we brought with us from the Uk were nowhere near strong enough for the sun out here. Most lenses out here are Polarised as well which cuts out the glare. You will struggle to get Polarised in England.

Also they are much cheaper here. I lose mine a lot so only buy cheapies. We paid $50 for 2 decent designer pairs the other day, I lost those so went to Crazy Clarkes and bought a pair for $5.99 and they are just as good!!

The only real designers around here are Oakley and Holden, yes scarily people walk around with designer Holden items on!!

Examples of Rayban Sunglass prices:

Predator 2 Wrap in Australia $139.00

Predator 2 Wrap in UK £87.40

OK, so I have nothing better to do at the moment

Plenty of Good sunglasses everywhere around here from $10

As this is my profession, I would give the following advice.

Always check the tint is dark enough i.e. check the sunnies out in bright sunlight. Brown tints make red coloured objects seem quite bright in colour. Some people don't like this and prefer either a grey or grey/green tint. But all down to personal preference.

Most sunnies you buy will have a UV filter, and this will be stated on the lens label.

The wrap style sunnies will keep out the glare from the sides and so will help if you are particularly sensitive to sunlight.

As for polarised lenses, these are great for watersports, fishing etc, as they cut down on the reflective glare from the water, but it is dangerous to drive in the rain whilst wearing polaroid lenses as you may not see surface water on the road ahead.

Hope this helps.

Evie.
