Yet if I use 24kWh every day, it seems to be saying that I use 24 Kilowatts per hour per day, which is  do I use 24 kilowatts every hour or every day.

Who isn't confused ? :D (excluding electricians :) )

The correct way of remembering it is not "kilo-Watts hour" but as "kilo-Watt Hours" meaning power multiplied by time.

The replies are on topic - many Poms are ignorant and inflexible - and that diminishes their options.

Clouds open and the sunlight hits the ground in Briton and "the uk is seen in a different light"? Sort of an anti-oxymoron init?

As for "watered down pom", you can call me what you wish. I don't claim to be a Pom - watered or not.

Go go megs...(!) I get confused too - but with most things - if you look at the underlying rationale ie work(or whatever) = power * time then you get the right answer.

Bad breath comes with the nasty bite.

We are all ignorant and inflexible - just some are more so than others.

If no one can help, i'll have to dig it all out, but then it'll be 5 years out of date anyway :)

This goes back to my earlier point about balance.

From reading some threads on the forum I thought that roof insulation, cavity wall, decent heating systems were simply not available in Australia - or so expensive as to be so.

It would certainly have been a lot more helpful if somebody had hijacked one of the threads on cold winters to actually give some practical advice on how to beat the cold.

www.google.com.au - 'heating': "Results 1 - 10 of about 907,000 for heating."

In www.google.com.uk use 'heating site:.au' to make search specific to Aus.
