About This Training Course
The demand for qualified security professionals is high. Government Departments, Corporate Organisations and other Businesses are increasingly seeking the services of professional security providers to protect their assets and support thier customers. If you are looking for a diverse industry with a wealth of opportunity, this is it!

This training program has been designed by ATA Course Developers in order to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to become a Security Officer and /or Crowd Controller in Queensland. This course is delivered through presentations, practical demonstrations, scenarios, group discussions and a variety of other learning techniques.

On successful completion of the course participants will be issued a qualification and the necessary application forms to apply for a Security Providers Licence. On receipt of the licence, participants may gain employment in the security industry as a Crowd Controller at pubs, clubs, functions, concerts, sporting events and other major events or as a Security Officer for shopping centres, airport, hospitals, universities, building sites, patrols, commercial and industrial sites, mine sites and other static guard sites.

Subjects Covered
CPPSEC2001A Communicate effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2002A Follow workplace safety procedures in the security industry
CPPSEC2003A Work effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2004A Respond to security risk situations
CPPSEC2005A Work as part of a security team
CPPSEC2006A Provide security services to clients
CPPSEC2011A Control access to and exit from premises
CPPSEC2014A Operate basic security equipment
CPPSEC2015A Patrol premises
CPPSEC2017A Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques
HLTFA301B Apply First Aid

The following units are also included to meet the new licensing requirements for Crowd Control.

CPPSEC2012A Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour
CPPSEC3002A Manage conflict through negotiation
CPPSEC3003A Determine response to security risk situations
CPPSEC3007A Maintain security of environment
CPPSEC3012A Control persons using empty hand techniques

Training Course Outcomes
CPP20207 Certificate II in Security Operations plus Partial CPP30407 Certificate III in Security Operations.

This program Includes First Aid at No Additional Cost!!!!

Prerequisites
Must be 18 years or age or older and have had no criminal convictions in previous 10 years to be eligible for a Security Providers Licence.

Other Information
On completion of this security ops course, participants will need to apply for a Security Officer (unarmed) / Crowd Controller Licence through the Queensland Government Department of Justice and Attorney General prior to commencing employment with security organisations in Queensland. A one year licence attracts a fee of $278.20 plus a $35.50 criminal history check fee. These fees are payable to DJAG on application.
