Re: Secondhand pianos
I bought one at an auction about 6 months ago - dont ask me why, I have no bloody idea! LOL. Its old & weighs a ton (literally!), needs tuning & 2 keys dont work very well, but, apart from one very small part on the top where the veneer has started to lift slightly, overall its in pretty good nick & the kids enjoy belting around on it occasionally.
Ohhh & I paid $80 for it, but Im guessing you would be looking for something a bit better for someone who knows what they are talking about .

As in the UK - you get what you pay for and need to find a reputable dealer who knows what they are talking about!
In my experience, the older the piano - the more tuning it needs on a regular basis, and certain keys just do not respond well - theres nearly always at least one
Depending on where in Australia you end up - obviously need to research that area for 'good dealers' etc.
When you do look - hope you find something that meets your 'criteria'.
