Thanks everyone for the replies, as the school year finishes at the start of Dec and we dont want to go till 6 Nov I'm not to worried now, I dont think a few weeks out of school is going to do her any harm. The day after posting my question we got a CO so hopefully thinks will move along now anyway and we will get our visa in time

[Hi, we came over having sold our house awaiting our visa with three school age children, we were able to send them to school but only for twelve weeks on a holiday visa , there was a charge for this I think if i remember correctly it was two thousand dollars per child, and luckily by about the eleventh week our visas were granted, but it is possible. We had to leave the country and re enter to get our visas validated bit of messing about really but as you said use it as a holiday opportunity, I would realisticaly think how far off getting your visa in terms of months you are before taking this route however as it can be alot of hassle.

QUOTE=breezeboylan]Hi all, as yet another week has passed with hardly any movement from DIMIA we are thinking about going with or without a visa in November. We are thinking about going out and just living on savings until visa grant then flying to Bali and back to validate. Just wondering though if our daughter would be allowed to start school or would we have to wait until visa grant, any ideas anyone? Also anyone any thoughts about weather this is a valid idea or not. All thoughts appreciated.
