hi all,
My son is 9 (10 in Feb) and we are going over to Brisbane as soon as we can sell the house.
He is slightly above average here, not a brainbox but ok. Will he be learning some of the same things over there or will he be thrust into a world of different subjects and different topics??
Im getting myself into a bit of a state worrying that we are going to mess up his education by going.
If anyone can give me any info on this i would be really grateful
cheers

Kismet/Shaun,
Cut-off date for determining school years in Victoria is 30th of April.
This booklet is worth downloading:
http://www.det.vic.gov.au/det/pdfs/A-Z%20guide.pdf
List of school authorities in each State/Territory is here:
http://www.detya.gov.au/schools/authorit.htm
Hope this helps.

I'm not too worried about it though. The advantages of moving to Oz outweigh the fact that he'll effectively be repeating his first year at school.
