Question Schooling - Catholic V State in Enogorra

Hello

Am trying to look at primary schools at the moment in the enogorra area of Brisbane. Is there much difference between state schools and catholic schools? I know that you have to pay for catholic schooling, though was wondering if this was suggested as a good education?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Mark

Each to his own but hard to see why you would want your children in Roman Catholic schools if you or they are not Roman Catholic (because the denominational based instruction may not be in line with your own values if that is the case).

Children are RC and in a catholic school in UK. Was asking for views of catholic schools in this area and how they are viewed from an educational point of view. is there an equivelant of OFSTEAD in QLD?

Thanks

The catholic religion is very hypocritical, extremely judgmental and stuck in the 1950's.

Your kids would be better off at a church of england school, or independent preferably.

Hi,

my 3 children all attend very good catholic schools in Melbourne. I have not experienced any of the above.

Can you expand on your experience and how you came to your conclusions?

Whilst at uni I tutored at a state catholic school in Glasgow....having been educated in a non-denominational environment myself I was shocked to see the volume & graphic nature of some of the propaganda that was plastered around the corridors and classrooms.....anti-abortion materials etc.
