school league tables
Hi
Does anyone know if you can get school league tables to look at as you can in the uk? Do you get them from the education department in the area you are hoping to live in or are they published in the local papers and certain times in the year. We are hoping to go somewhere along the sunshine coast.

There are no such thing as league tables in Aus, word of mouth and checking around is the option. This forum seems to be one place of reference and also checking whether schools have a decent reputation - check out local real estate agents for good schools or name the specific area on your thread here and see what the response is. We checked school email sites and made the best educated guess we could. For us it turned out well, some of it comes down to gut feel and mates information!
IMOP check out whether the school has GAT (Gifted and Talented clasess) or is very streamed for bright kids or has special support for kids who need help (I have one of both).

Alot of the real estate sites have info on local schools.
