"A court in the central Phu Yen province delivered the sentence against Tony Tran, 43, after he was found guilty of sending 200g of heroin by post to Australia, a court official said.
Tran's accomplice, his girlfriend, Le Thi Van, 33, was jailed for 15 years.

Someone at work said they should post marijuana to the embassy (and not bacteria).
as the embassy is on Indonesian soil, they should immediately prosecute the receptionist who opened the envelope for carrying drugs. After all, anyone could make up a letter with an address on it - its not a defence.
Flawed, but I saw their point.

And the answer is four times in her life. She has a sister who lives with her Balinese husband in Australia. The three of them and other friends were on a two week holiday.
A hanging offence no less.

Mick Keelty said security at perimeter gates was sound. Yet channel 9 showed the free coming and going on TV.
I suggest intending migrants come by ship.

The head appears regularly on television to re-assure travellers. It's not working. He seems to be left off every mail list which publishes information relevant to security. Most recently the report leaked in Monday's Australian.

Email from Kim Beazley's office.
Can't find 'insist'.

Many people forget the families of prisoners suffer too. Prisoners will be released one day although I suspect there are a few here who would prefer otherwise. They should be able to maintain their family links pending their release.

"AUSTRALIA has been the villain in Japan for jailing one of its citizens in a drug-smuggling case that mirrors Schapelle Corby's plight, according to a leading criminologist.
...
They have never stopped protesting their innocence, and like Corby, say they were unwitting drug couriers, Prof Wilson said.
The four had maintained that when a van containing their luggage was stolen during a stop-over at Kuala Lumpur, a fifth man told them their suitcases had been found but were damaged so their belongings had been transferred to new luggage."

I don't know all the facts about CS but i do know that when I was in Bali in 1996 my flight out of that place was cancelled twice due to bad weather, I went to the airline office to explain that if I did'nt get a flight soon my visa would have expired, I was told not to worry and I was given a slip of paper to explain my circumstances. Finally I was booked on a flight(visa now one day overdue) I queued early handed over my passport and slip of paper to promptly be shouted at "VISA ONE DAY OVERSTAY!!!!!!" I tried to explain and pointed to the slip of paper, two airport soldier/police escorted me away they had guns and were very menacing indeed. I was left in a small room and eventually a man came in and asked what I thought they should do with me as I had commited a serious offence, again I tried to explain, he waived his hand and said he if we could not come to some arrangement I would miss my flight and would be detained.
Then he asked if I had any money I explained only travellers cheques, he explained that he would get someone to escort me to exchange the cheques. I was escorted by a man with a gun and had to exchange the equivalent of AU$100 (to buy a new visa! yeah right), whilst exchanging the money the soldier/police man started talking to the girl behind the counter both were laughing and looking at me as if I was a stupid tourist.
Finally they took their money and let me go through the airport no visa no nothing, I was terrified throughout the whole episode but also angry and frustrated, luckily I flew to Oz from there.
I can honestly say I will never go to Bali again and have made it my life's work to put people off going there but it seems with super long sentences for westerners my job is at an end they are killing the tourist trade all by themselves.
