Hi God I remember this feeling from last year - and we don't have any kids so I think it was a lot simper for us.
But don't worry about your cats - I was heartbroken when the shipping guy came to pick them up, worrying about what they would think, and that they'd think we'd sent them away (I know - I love my cats!). They are here now though and are fine. They were quiet in quarantine and obviously a bit scared by everything but they soon got over it and are back to normal. There were no issues with their care, in fact it's like they are living with vets for a month so they are monitored closely.
It makes me laugh now when I see them both sat on the wall in the evening watching the sun set into the ocean, they love it!!
Sending you best wishes for the next few days.

Hi all my husband I and 4 children will be taking the plunge in 2 weeks flying via hong kong . Will stop of for 2 nights . Never been to Perth , so it's very daunting ,have been to the other side though , we've rented out our house here in the uk hoping to sell it next year providing housing Market improves. our cats fly out in 10 days , the children are excited and upset also as leaving their friends . I am starting to panic and think have we made the right decision , did any of you guys feel the same ,????? we been trying to get in and over for the last 4/5 years talking about it constantly But now it's here and we are finally going I am cacking my pants lol .

Good luck with it all & we'll see you out there!
We'll be landing in Perth 2 weeks today. We're heading just across Marmion Avenue from Quinns Rock.
We've already moved out of our house, re-homed our cats, I've had a leaving do with all my mates & I've had weeks of tears now. Yesterday we left mother-in-laws after a week there which was really hard. I even burst in to tears sat in a cafe with them all yesterday afternoon & set off my mum/sister-in-law
I was sat cuddling my tiny 11 week old nephew (born 9 weeks premature) & realised he'd be running around next time I see him. We're now at my parents for the week. My sis, nephew & my 2 older boys (plus a girlfriend) will all be here for the weekend but my 14 year old daughter won't be as she is still refusing to talk to me because I'm moving away which is heartbreaking.
I sat in the car yesterday in tears asking hubby if we're really doing the right thing. I'm sure we are but these last few weeks are so hard. I've got a permanent headache from trying not to cry all the time.
Good luck to the others of you flying in the next few weeks. Looks like there's a few of us heading to Perth

Hi Alison , sounds like your having a hard time with the move , just like us we've had a few doubts but going for it , as if u really can't deal with it you can always come back . Think about the reasons you chose to go In the first place . I had a few weeks of feeling like you . Are your kids not going with you then ? Years ago technology was pants . But now we got skype and facebook , you can talk to your family free on the Internet . And oz is only a day away . And the best thing of all you can be our new friends so all is good
when do u arrive ? We get to Perth 1st sep . Our cats are going too which is another added worry .big stress !! It's good u found some one to home yours . That must of been upsetting on top of everything else . This emmigrating lark makes us feel we are loosing everything . This blow up bed I am sleeping on is not a luxury I am used to lol . Tomorrow is the leaving party will post how it all goes . Good luck x

Tomorrow is the leaving party will post how it all goes . Good luck xMy older 3 kids aren't coming with us (I have 5 children). They live with their dad & are all teenagers so are kind of settle for now with their mates, etc. The boys seem fairly matter of fact about me going but my daughter has flipped about it & it doesn't look like there's much chance of seeing or speaking to her before I leave. I know technology is great now but it's not going to be the same as a proper cuddle. I'm not feeling too bad about it all at the moment but possibly because I'm with my parents & my boys are here.
I can't believe how much we've got to squeeze in before we fly in 10 days time (we land on the 2nd). I've had a lovely weekend with my family although hubby had to be elsewhere for the weekend & my elder daughter wasn't with us. I've spent the afternoon hoovering my car ready to put on ebay. We've got a couple more days here then we're off to father-in-laws on for the last week. During that week I've got to catch up with my best mate, visit some of hubby's relatives, drinks on Friday with hubby's friends & a few other people to see as well.
We spent the last few weeks in our house sleeping on a mattress on the floor & then the last night on an airbed, not my idea of fun so you have my sympathies. Been enjoying the comfort of a proper bed again the last week or so

Hope you get your cats off ok. I'm sure they'll be fine as it sounds like they get very well looked after. We decided it would be better for our cats to re-home them, heartbreaking as it's been. One of our cats was about 14/15 years old so really didn't seem fair to ship him across the world & my cat came from the RSPCA & hated being caged up so again decided it would be better to find her a new loving home. She's actually gone to live with my youngest daughters best mate which is lovely for the girls as 'H' knows exactly where her cat is & 'I' is looking after the cat for 'H' (if that makes sense?).
Sorry I waffled rather a lot there
