Hello again Jo.
Sorry to be the carrier of possible bad tidings but Perth and surrounding areas are not classed as regional so do not qualify for RSMS visas.
Unless of course the status changes in the meantime which is a bit unlikely.
Follow the link in my post above to check the post codes acceptable in WA.
If that is the case I guess it would have to be an ENS which is a different ball game altogether. I don't know a lot about that one so check out DIMIA Booklet 5....

If you can't qualify for a full skilled visa, or for an ENS you may have to rethink your plans to go to somewhere that is regional and that could lead to an RSMS.

Hi can anybody help me on this please? We are desperate to get out to Australia and my husband has been offered a job in NSW. although Employer says it is in a regional area, this does not show up on the postcodes when we search the australian government site. Their business is in are ..26 and ..28 shows up as a regional area not ..26, even though the districts are very close together.
My husband has all the training required for this position and we will fully get the support of our employer. He has advertised this post in the past but no one had the necessary experience for his business. He then had an apprentice working for him but the apprentice let him down and ended up in jail! However, because my husband is a semi-skilled worker, not a skilled worker, it is making our application very difficult! Because the employer is not in a regional area, he has approached the State Government and they have put all sorts of conditions in his way, and if we go as Temporary Residents what chance of PR do we have after 2 years.
Do you have any experience on applying through an Employer Sponsorship as a semi-skilled worker? Thanks.
