Actually I would imagine that Ian Thorpe has been invited for his charity work which Prince William has taken an interest in previously. But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of a snigger at the Royals and Australia in one fell swoop.
It probably is so why dont they just say that instead of calling him sporting royalty. Then they wouldnt get sniggered at. Same as kerri anne in the beefeater cossie, she could have worn a normal dress, but hey ho  |

Err because it was, presumably, one of the 'silly' channels - 10/9/7 who wouldn't know news if it bit them on the bum as everyone knows  As for this Kerri Anne person, I'm guessing she's off some breakfast thing, in which case I would take a punt that whatever passes for breakfast tv elsewhere in the world are behaving as stupidly but she seems to have got a free flight to the UK so she's not that dumb is she? ;)
For the record I quite like the royal family and think this wedding is a nice thing so not sniggering at them -it is just the coverage that is as usual ridiculous and worthy of a snigger or two:p (As far as i am concerned though sorry have to disagree yes the 'Kerri-anne person' is always going to be dumb as s**t and gag-worthy even if she got a free flight to mars and back.;)) |

Re: Royal Wedding
The OH has shocked me by wanting to watch the overblown charade with the MIL and our daughter. She normally has such fine taste too, it's quite knocked me sideways.
She was muttering something about family tradition and watching the last couple of doomed royal 'fairytale romances'. I have naturally agreed to this on the condition that I am not in the same postcode when it happens. I might go to the Broncos game  |

:)Must admit getting quite excited about the forthcoming royal wedding and feel a bit like I would like to soak up the atmosphere in the UK right now! Some good happy times for the UK.
Evidently the Great British public have moved on from issues concerning Royality. Oh,a measurement of anticipation is also the far fewer number of street parties applied to be held also. Can't figure out why Obama did not get an invite though. |

Accounts that i have read and heard is that there is only limited interest and nowhere close to the level of thirty years ago when Williams parents tired the knot.

Re: Royal Wedding
Ah its always interesting putting a thread up about royalty, so many people on one side of the fence but I am excited and shall be watching with my daughters on channel 7, 9, or most of the others which will probably cover it, don't watch aussie tv anyway because its awful so a good old royal wedding will be great!

Maybe Prince Phillip thinks he's the wrong colour and would look out of place in the photos.

Only royal characters (Sultan of Brunei, King of Swaziland, Emperor of Japan, Queen of Denmark etc, even the deposed Greek monarchs were invited!), Ambassadors and Commonwealth Governors-General and Prime Ministers were included. |
