Re: rockingham perth
there are many people about offering short term rentals to migrants, have a look on www.pomsinperth.com www.movetoperth.com or www.stayz.com
most are holiday accomadation and come fully furnished with all the gear you need.
if your thinking of rockingham i have rented a 3 bed cottage in waikiki for £1100 for 3 weeks,,,,worth it till we find a long term rental and while we wait for our shipped stuff arriving
if this is helpfull some karma would be nice

Re: rockingham perth
Hi, each time we have come here (we moved here 3 times previously) we always stayed in fully furnished short term accommodation, I used this site:
http://www.annabella.net/rockingham/selfcont.html
It also has more info about Rockingham if you see the menu at the bottom of the page. We paid approx $4-500 a week, only ever used the accomm for 2 weeks and found a 6 month rental whilst we stayed there.
When renting here (6 or 12 month lease) you require 4 weeks rent as a bond, plus 2 weeks in advance, and if renting through an estate agent 1 week as their 'fee". I would recommend using an agent as I had major trouble last time I rented privately.
If buying best to hold off for a few months to be honest, house prices here are still rising (albeit slowly) and apparently are expected to take over Sydney's........ I dont know whether that will happen but houses are overpriced here and we have just listed ours, the agent has said that the market is slow and that prices will drop in the next year to a level which makes more sense :-)
Hope that helps!

Sorry, but 900.00 per week sounds a bit expensive for a three bed cottage. We have three of them and our 5 bed 2 bathroom home 2 minutes from Rockingham beachfront costs that per week. Have a look at www.cedarcottagewa.com . Suzette at Cedar Cottage

Hi Jade and Rich, we have three short term holiday rentals in Rockingham, if you have family, it is a lot easier than hotels etc.. We have had a lot of people from the UK and most of them have settled closeby and we still see most of them regularly. Have a look at our site at www.cedarcottagewa.com or send us a pm if you need to know anything. Suzette and Will.
