Sorry to say, am not impressed with his 'Close Encounters' concert recorded at leeds and currently on Channel 10 !
Why?
Band too loud, drowning him out.
Don't think his vocals are as good as his past.
Not a patch on previous concerts.
Definitely prefer his 'older' material.
Who was the guy he did the awful double act with?
May have some Brisbane tickets up for sale based on this performance!!!
A disappointed Mrs Keebs.

Re: Robbie Williams
Was just reading about the way he treated Ray Heffernan - the guy that wrote Angels and was paid off with a derisory £10k from William's management. A song written, incidentally, about Heffernan's still-born son...

Don't agree, thought it was excellent. You never get the right sound from a televised gig. His "double act" was with Jonathan Wilkes, his best mate and a very talented guy in his own right - was brilliant in the Rocky Horror Picture Show last year.
Love his new stuff, love his old stuff. The man is a true entertainer

bloody crap how can a recorded programme over-run like that and I had to endure 30 minutes of it before the office started.

Re: Robbie Williams
I didnt see the concert on telly but saw him live in the flesh last Thurs at Milton Keynes too and he was awesome. I was in the Golden Circle with excellent views My mate was at the Leeds concert they filmed and agreed his vocals were not at his best as he is a little under the weather at present due to having already done nearly 50 dates of his current tour. Vocally he was fantastic on Thursday though. Apparently his Asian dates have been cancelled due to exhaustion so here's hoping the Aussie ones don't go the same way!!

Saw him at the Leeds concert and the following Thursday at Milton Keynes and he was truly fantastic!! Recorded Sky, and agree that he doesn't sound the best on the telly, but believe me, when you're there its 1000 times better!! Excellent from start to finish, even the support acts are fantastic too. He's a born entertainer and I would highly recommend anyone to go to one of his concerts if they get chance, even if they're not that keen on him.
