Bar jobs for guys are very thin on the ground over here except maybe 5 star places. Most others employ skimpys (women who wear next to nothing or topless) or women fullstop. Some men do work in pubs but not many. To work in a 5 star a guy needs to be trained in service and making a range of cocktails (and keep knowledge up to date). Doesn't pay much either. I have read of dishwashers on mining sites up north making 80k but I have no first hand knowledge.

Most cooking and gardening jobs also require some TAFE (polytechnic) training or else paid work experience. Bear in mind too that cooks/chefs can work very unsociable hours and that the ehat here (if doing outside work can be oppressive).

Not trying to put you off, just best to be well informed so he can look at a range of work options.

Check out this site, it probably has most info you might need.

You will never know if you never try!!!

We are leaving a comfy lifestyle behind and to be honest we are cacking our pants but not because of financial reasons just the whole lifestyle change we are looking at it as an adventure but no matter what everybodys own opinions and reasons for going they will probably be totally different to yours as will there dreams and expectations!!

The only way you will know if its worth it is if you give it a go!!

theres more to life than money (i know it helps) and life is far to short for what ifs !!!

Good Luck
