Try : donttravelwithoutit.com think about £16 a pair of full length stockings, or try asking the hospital as often provide TED stockings for long operations.

Suppose it's probably best to talk to a Doctor to fully understand the risks and make an informed decision. You wouldn't want to take any random's opinion then drop dead from it being the wrong one!

AFAIK the injection is only available by a doctor...so that is exactly what's already been advised.

And I haven't a clue if I could even have this injection due to breast feeding. Sorry I've hijacked this thread.

Brit2Oz thanks for the website address I'll look it up and definitely invest in some full length stockings as long as the doc says its ok to fly.
