Was it the right move for you?
Having coffee with a friend today, we questioned whether we would have still come to Australia if we had our time again and knew then what we know now???
If I'm brutally honest with myself the answer would really be a resounding no, however, I am here, and at least for the time being will have to accept my fate.
This however made me wonder how others feel, personally I don't hate it, but it lacks something. So many of the posts appear as ''hate it'' or ''love it''. I guess it all depends on how long you have been here too. Having been here 15 months I have gone from elation to despair and now sit around indifferent.
So what about you?

We've been here for just over 2 years and our only regret is that we didn't do it years ago!

Whats ideal for your kids at 4 might be a flamin nightmare for them at 14.
Best you can hope for is ALL the family feel the same way. I could not even begin to explain how many times each member of the family has swung on the love/hate australia scale. I no longer care, just wish they would all agree.

Not found a house yet or a business to buy, am getting a bit bored but I'am sure it will work out fine in the end.
And the important thing is that my boys seem to love it here.

After initial horror and despair, we had elation for a month.
We're 10 months in now and feel it's the worse decision we ever made in our lives

Think I sit somewhere in the middle not totally happy but not unhappy. I still struggle to fill the weekends and dont really have anyone who I would class as good friends but I keep on plodding on trying to fill the time.

Yes, absolutely the right move. Came for family and got them. Came for the weather, and we have that... Came for a fresh start... sure got that.
No regrets.
I still like England and would never rule out living there again, but for now I'm here and this is good enough for now. I have difficulty NOT filling my weekends, and sometimes we're so busy getting out and about it's actually tricky to get the regular chores done, hence massive piles of laundry. Sometimes, we have to plan to have a 'home day' to get it all done!
Annn, did you come to retire here? What is it that's lacking in your opinion?

No I didn't come to retire, if I had I'd have died of boredom.
The thing for me is what you haven't had you never miss. I have had and I am suffering the withdrawal from life and buzz. Like I said I don't hate it here and there are many amazing sights I have yet to see. However much as I love walking and sightseeing, I want more and i'm pretty sure my kids will too when they're older.
I will be shot down no doubt with my boredom statement, but we're all different and what flicks my switch may not flick somebody elses.
I want an adrenalin rush that doesn't involve a huntsman or a snake and I want to stay up after 10pm
Maybe it's a midlife crisis
