The right answer at Oz Immigration?
When flying out for 2 weeks to validate your visa with the intention of returning properly in say, 6 months - what do you say at immigration?
Do you tick the box that says 'I'm here on holiday' or the box that says ' I'm immigrating' ??
Don't wish to foul it all up at (literally) the last hurdle.
Hope somebody wiser than me knows....

You need to ask JAJ on this one. We did something similar - validated in January and came out for good in October. I think we ticked emigrating on the form.

I am pretty sure that we ticked holiday, as it wasn't our "final immigration" but I really wouldn't worry to much, they certainly aren't going to chuck you out of the country for ticking the wrong box

Yes, "Immigrating".
The fact you tick this box has no real bearing on your tax residency (which I suspect is the reason behind the question!)
