Question Renting with dogs

HI All,

We are looking to finally head out to Oz from the UK next summer but would like to rent around the Sunshine Coast area, we also have 2 dogs that will be coming with us (golden retrievers) which are very good girls & a big part of our family.

Can anyone tell us if we are likely to have problems with having 2 dogs or is there a fair number of places to rent that don’t mind dogs.

any info would be great.

Regards
Phil

Default Re: Renting with dogs

It will really depend on the state of the rental market when you arrive. Having dogs (especially large ones) will generally put you at a disadvantage over people without, but of course it is not impossible. What has really surprised me here though is that the majority of rentals which accept dogs expect them to be "outdoor dogs". My friend with a large lab is on her fourth rental and this is the first one where it is accepted that he lives inside.

If you have rented in the UK (with dogs) it would be a good idea to bring references, otherwise maybe be prepared to offer a larger bond. Expect to have to fumigate the house at your expense at the end of the lease.
