We`re going with Eagle as they were the cheapest for us and had a no-nonsense attitude without all the glossy brochures. The other people were nice though and very professional (as they should be), but we are working to a tight budget and are quite happy going with Eagle (especially as they know I`ll be reporting how good/bad they are on this forum when it`s all over). They`ll be coming to pack on the 30th of May and the container will arrive on the 31st of May.
You could always save a bit more money by using a slightly smaller 20ft container (has less cubic feet). They have a name but I can`t remember it atm.... like Schooner or something (a ship`s name iirc).
Also, if you share a 20 or 40ft container with someone else it can sometimes save money (ppl`s stuff is all divided by a wooden wall) if you are both going to the same destination (anyone else going to Perth in June from SE England who want to share a 40ft container via Eagle??).

It may be worth noting that we were advised by Winchester and Eagle that the actual costs from the shipper companies can change on a regular basis so depending on when you actually use them you may have to pay a bit more than the original quote (i.e quotes valid for a month). I have heard of this happening to people but their shipping companies didn't mention this when giving them quotes. I appreciated the honesty from these two companies, so if this isn't mentioned to you it may be worth asking.

We had a quote from Robinsons that was £3800 ( 20ft container, door to door ) but that was over the phone. Then i said that we would easily get into a 20ft container he said a option was to do a shared container so this would bring down the price, John mason and allied pickfords are coming around next week. Still plan to get more quotes as well.

just dont use anglo pacific - if its the last thing I ever do, I hope to loose them customers for ruining my belongings, not answering my letters and refusing to compensate me adequately. They were completely useless and I hope their business goes a**e up!

Hi all,
I know it's getting a little old now, but if you've not already seen it you might want to look at the following thread:
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268288
Should give you an idea about who's expensive and who's cheaper and so who's worth approaching for a quote.
Hope that helps,
GG

I had the same problem - no letters answered, no communication at all.
Don't use them

I had a few around for quotes, but Anglo Pacific and Bishops move didn't even bother sending a quote. Why bother to come around and assess the furniture and then not bother quoting!
