Relocation packages - Adelaide
Hello all
My wife (who is Australian) and I will be moving to Adelaide towards the end of the year. I am a qualified Probation Officer and my wife's background is in social work. People have mentioned to me to have a look if there are any relocation packages, but I'm not really sure where to start! Does anyone know if these exist for our line of work and if so how I can find out more?
Cheers!

The advice "look into a relocation package" seems a bit random to me. Have you been looking into jobs so far? Any luck?
If you get lucky then I guess you could ask for relocation. On the other hand, if you are looking for work from overseas and want to market yourself as if you are a local candidate to turn around and ask for relocation assistance might not come off.

Agreed, each company will have their own idea of when and if they do pay relocation costs. This would depend entirely on supply and demand and how boyant the company's financials are. The best bet is to research / target comapnies you are interested in - google.com.au is your friend - and then contact them directly. I wouldn't go in straight away saying 'what can you give me' open the dialogue and have your cv up to date and your spousal(?) visa all in place and take it from there.
