try grays online www.graysonline.com.au, some good computer auctions on there.

If your just looking for internet access then 80% of refurbished computers will do, however you probably need to replace the mouse which is about $20-30

What sort of dev?
I sometimes use my old P2 128Mb laptop to run visual studio or eclipse.
It's not ideal but works when need be.

Brand new HP's are only £300 odd with 3 years warranty, I wouldn't have thought refurbs are much cheaper for anything decent.

I personally would buy a new one, you can get brand new fairly cheaply from say Dell (which I have). At least you get a warranty, etc. You also don't know what may or may not be installed on a 2nd hand machine. I suspect they would still be OK though. It would also be easier to ring up Dell and have a go at them rather than a company that sells 2nd hand computers, if something did go wrong in 12 months time.

Thanks for your replies.

I might use for Web application development (Java / J2EE) purpose, my budget is AUD$700, I thought of taking a Refurbished box for $300-400 + Keyboard, mouse, monitor etc., might work around $300.

Cheers
