Some agencies charge a rate for contractor roles. They take about 2% or something. Shocking and something i simply wouldnt accept. They take care of all your tax and stuff but thats quite abit of money depending on your rate.

if you are only contracting short term then this is a lot easier than setting up your own company. My OH found it very worthwhile paying the 2% to have all his tax/super payments dealt with and receiving a standard payslip for his first job here whilst looking for a permanent role.

Would appreciate Pointers for recruiters in Brisbane - I have just left canary wharf to come over and dont expect similar organisations but I do have that banking skill set....Who wants me.....???

Do recruiters have something else than SEEK? I thought all these Great Australian job portals exhaustively cover 90% of job vacancies. Is it a safe assumption
