Good question - lots of research I research everything but more sun, most people think Australia is a better quality of life and although British come back most are because of missing family etc, more relaxed lifestyle, better opportunities for our daughter - she will go down a year at school as in Australia children start school at 5 (J is an august baby so started school here when she was 4 yrs 12 days old - and plays with kids in the year younger to her) both of us are self employed hubby for 18 years in electronics. Best friend and family in Adelaide.

We havent and wont do a reccie, we are leaving uk with 4 kids and dont intend to come back.
life is an adventure..... lets live it!!!!

Would you ever move to a new place within the UK without going to see it first? Probably not. Why should distance/money make a difference with Aus? If you're going to be here forever, a few thousand is a worthwhile investment. You'll get a hell of a lot more out of spending that money (in terms of how it prepares you) than you will by saving it. Just IMHO.
